Events

The Smith College Office of Alumnae Relations and Development organizes and hosts programs and events for Smith alums that aim to engage, educate, and inspire. Staff, governed by college policies and procedures, are committed to the safety and success of these activities for all participants. In parallel, the college has the following expectations of all individuals attending Smith events:

  • Practice mutual respect and appreciation of differences by abiding by Smith’s Notice of Nondiscrimination. Discrimination by any member of the college community will not be tolerated.
  • Communicate with care and respect in email, print, social media, and in-person to all members of the Smith community, including students, faculty, staff, alums, parents, and friends of the college.
  • Help all feel welcome and included by respecting the diversity of the Smith community, being inclusive, and considering issues of diversity (e.g. ability, age, class, ethnicity, gender identity, geography, race, religion, sexual orientation).

Smith alums are the college’s best ambassadors and your continued connection to the college community both on and off campus is critical to our collective success. Thank you for staying engaged and participating in our programs.

Alumnae Book Club

The Smith College Alumnae Book Club is a fun and intellectually stimulating way to stay in touch! You can participate when it is convenient for you and enjoy books by women authors from a range of genres. There is no cost to participate.

How it works: Our digital book club connects through a private online forum where we engage in stimulating discussions and network with fellow alums. The group spends two months reading each book, with guided discussion topics. Let’s read together!
