Presented by Gretchen Groggel Ralson, Vice President and General Counsel, in conversation with James Lowenthal, Academic Freedom Committee

> This session will explore academic freedom and how it applies to teaching, scholarship, and faculty expression. We’ll examine some of the more challenging issues that arise in this area: how do academic freedom and other institutional policies interact?; does faculty expression ever fall outside the scope of academic freedom?; what happens when classroom speech is controversial?
