Song for Medusa: Book Launch with Author/illustrator Grace Desmarais

Author/illustrator Grace Desmarais - an alumna of Hampshire College - is visiting Smith on Tuesday, November 17.  Her debut graphic novel, Song for Medusa, will be released on November 10 by Andrews McMeel Publishing (distributed by Simon & Schuster). The novel is told from the Gorgon Medusa’s perspective and involves a queer love story as well as a clash with the (villainous) Greek hero Perseus. Medusa turns everyone who looks at her to stone, but Princess Cyrene is blind . . . and thus their relationship can develop. You can read more about the novel and see a preview on Simon & Schuster's website.
